Iga Swiatek has slammed the WTA and ITF for the “impossible” schedule she believes female tennis players are forced to endure. The world No 1 said she would be making her feelings clear to the two organisations as she explained how tough their timetable was on the players.Swiatek has enjoyed a career-best season, reaching world No 1 and winning two more Grand Slam titles. The 21-year-old also went on a 37-match winning streak, spanning titles in Doha, Indian Wells, Miami, Stuttgart, Rome and the French Open, but she has been left feeling let down by two of tennis’ biggest governing bodies as the end of the year approaches. The Pole has already qualified for the year-end WTA Finals thanks to her results this season, while her country has also qualified for a spot in the Billie Jean King Cup Finals, taking place in Glasgow. But with the two final tournaments of 2022 taking place just one day apart, Swiatek has shared her anger for the governing bodies as she admitted their scheduling may prevent her from playing for Poland. “I am dissatisfied, although I know that organising everything is complicated,” she told Sport.pl “I am certainly irritated by the fact that the WTA and ITF federations did not work together to make our task easier.” This year’s edition of the WTA Finals is being held in Fort Worth, Texas and ends on November 7, with the BJK Cup finals starting on November 8 in Scotland.JUST IN: Federer shares ‘irony’ of losing his final matches before retirement
