Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp has Darwin Nunez message after training displays | Football | Sport

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is adamant £85million frontman Darwin Nunez will come good in time – if he performs like he does in training. The German tactician has been blown away by some of the Uruguayan’s finishes at Kirkby and he has encouraged the former Benfica man to keep being himself, as the goals will come. It’s been a rollercoaster ride for Nunez since arriving at Anfield after several flashes of promise but Klopp is putting no pressure on his frontman to deliver. The 23-year-old struck a second-half hat-trick in the pre-season demolition of RB Leipzig to silence his critics before netting off the bench in the 3-1 Community Shield victory over Manchester City at Leicester. He then marked his Premier League debut with a goal at Fulham before a moment of madness against Crystal Palace saw him slapped with a three-match ban.Nunez was a bright spark in the 2-0 Champions League win over Rangers but he failed to convert several high-profile chances that were saved by Allan McGregor.Klopp believes Nunez just needs to show more composure to start hitting the back of the net – something he is already doing on the training field.“I think he said himself, he feels the pressure, these kind of things,” said the Kop boss ahead of the trip to Arsenal.“He needs to calm himself down, but his movements are exceptional. If you could see him finishing in training, you’d think ‘oh my God!’.“In the games, he’s in a bit of a rush and he just needs to calm down in those moments and use his full range of finishing. Not to change, just to keep going.”Klopp and Liverpool’s players made it clear to Nunez that he needs to keep his emotions in check following his headbutt on Joachim Andersen in the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace. The Liverpool boss does not expect it to happen again, making it clear he expects better from his new frontman.“It was not a perfect start,” he added. “He had a three-game suspension and you can’t get rid of that.“He’s an aggressive player, he’s emotional and it should never happen again.“But I really like his movements, they are really good and natural. That’s something we didn’t have before. That’s what I like and why I’m sure everything will be fine.”Liverpool travel to Arsenal on Sunday as they look to disrupt the Gunners’ impressive early-season form.Klopp is expected to revert back to a 4-3-3 system with Roberto Firmino poised to replace Nunez is attack. The Brazilian has five goals in seven Premier League outings this season as he looks to show his fellow South American how it’s done in front of goal.
