Arsenal have been linked with a move for Pedro Neto, with the winger excelling in the Premier League for Wolves this season. And the Gunners could attempt to prise the 23-year-old away from Molineux on the cheap by offering the Black Country club Reiss Nelson on loan to sweeten the deal.Wolves signed Neto from Lazio in the summer of 2019 after the player had made just five first-team appearances for the Italian club. The Portugal international was mainly used from the bench during his maiden campaign in England but became a regular starter during his second season under Nuno Espirito Santo. However, the star suffered a serious knee injury in April 2021 and missed 10 months of action. He also suffered a spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury last season.Neto started the current campaign in blistering form as he bagged one goal and eight assists in his side’s first 10 Premier League matches, before suffering a hamstring problem. And his form has reportedly persuaded Arsenal to target him in the New Year.Neto’s imperious performances in a Wolves shirt will mean his current employers will demand a hefty fee if they do agree to sanction a move to the capital less than two years after he penned a new five-year contract. But Arsenal could use Wolves’ interest in Nelson to their advantage.According to CBS Sports, Wolves want to take the winger on loan in January, with Spanish side Sevilla also keen on the 24-year-old. Nelson wants to stay at the Emirates Stadium and fight for his place, with Arsenal on the hunt for their first Premier League title in 20 years. But if Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is that desperate for Neto, he could encourage Nelson to make the move north, where the player would gain valuable Premier League minutes.Neto returned to the Wolves team on Saturday as he came off the bench for the final 10 minutes of his team’s 3-0 top-flight victory over Everton. And discussing his future in October, the Portuguese explained: “I want to say that I am here and I will help everyone. I love the club and everybody here, I have always felt that it has given a lot to me.“I’m enjoying the moment here so I will continue to do that. The future and long-term ambitions don’t matter. We will never go down in any situation, we are here to win and fight. I feel really good at the moment and hope to continue.”
